Chapter 2 Hair Care

Caring for hair is important and it should be treated with love. Caring your extensions properly increases their lifespan and doesn’t weaken the hair. Here are simply yet important steps to follow:

Sleep guide

Silk is your hair's best friend. It keeps your hair hydrated and allows movement. It doesn’t absorb moisture unlike cotton. This is why you should always wrap your hair in a silk based bonnet or scarf. We highly recommend that you use a satin head wrap specifically for your edges. This protects your lace from lifting caused by friction.

Styling

When styling your hair, it is important to keep it protected as heat is damaging. Think of it as your hair, the more heat you apply to it, the more it damages. Always use a heat protecting spray. Although it can’t protect the damage to a 100%, it’s better than not using a heat protecting spray.

Be aware of the temperature added to your hair. When blow drying, avoid using it on a warm setting. As for flat ironing and curling, avoid using your iron on the highest setting and avoid doing it frequently. It’s better to style your hair on high heat a few times with minimal touch ups than to style frequently with low heat.

Storage

Proper storage of the hair also has an input on the hairs lifespan. Whenever you’re done using your extensions, wash them properly. (read the Hair Wash Diary). After washing, properly fold and package them into the hair package it came in. Do not store it unwashed, tangled and dirty. This causes frizz and makes it difficult for you to use the hair for next time.

Love,
